Turn a company research into an on-brand deck
One line in a sheet, and a researched deck in your brand lands in your inbox.
Le contexte
BRIEFING
Before meeting a company, someone has to research it and turn the findings into slides. It usually takes half a day, and the deck rarely looks like the rest of your organisation's material.
In this mission you build a Workspace Studio flow that does both. You add a company to a sheet. The flow runs a Deep Research on it, then asks Gemini to create a Google Slides presentation from that research, following your organisation's design system. The draft lands in your inbox for review.
OBJECTIVES
Mission brief and checklist
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build a flow that researches a company and creates an on-brand deck about it, then test it on a real company from your region.
The mission is complete when…
- Adding a row to your sheet starts the flow, with nobody clicking anything else.
- The deck is built only from the research: every missing fact shows as [TO CONFIRM], nothing is invented.
- The deck uses your design system: fonts, colours, layouts and footer.
- You checked every figure against its source before sharing the deck.
Going further
- Time it: how long did the flow take, and how long would the same deck have taken by hand?
- Run it on the same company twice and compare the two decks. What changes, and what does that tell you about checking the output?
- Open the deck in Google Slides, ask the Gemini side panel to match the style of a reference deck, and compare.
STEPS
The mission is broken down into progressive steps.
- 1Create a Google Sheet called « Deck requests » with three columns: Company, Website, Requested by.
- 2In Workspace Studio, create a flow that starts « When a row is added » to that sheet.
- 3Add a « Deep Research » step. Paste the research prompt from the template below, and insert the Company and Website variables from the starter.
- 4Add a « Create with Gemini » step and choose a presentation. Paste the deck prompt from the template, insert the Company variable, and insert the output of the Deep Research step at the end.
- 5Add a « Send an email » step to the Requested by address, with the link to the deck and this reminder: « Draft generated by AI: check every [TO CONFIRM] and every figure before sharing ».
- 6Test the flow: add a company from your region to the sheet, wait for the email, then open the deck.
- 7Review the deck against the research: check the figures, the sources in the speaker notes, and the design. Note what you had to fix.

Documentation & Template
Prerequisites
Documentation
- Workspace Studio guide to starters and steps: https://support.google.com/workspace-studio/table/17176961
- Creating a presentation with Gemini in Google Slides: https://support.google.com/docs/answer/17111393
- Things to watch: Deep Research can take several minutes, so the email does not arrive instantly. « Create with Gemini » is a beta step and works in English. A flow has at most 20 steps.
Template to duplicate / Content to use
Copy each prompt into its step, then replace the words in braces with the variables from your flow.
