The TEMPO method · automation & AI
Automation & AI: a five-step process that is solid, efficient and safe
You want to automate part of your business and use AI in a way that actually works. What you're missing is a real recipe: where you start, what you need, how you transform it, what you check and what comes out. Here it is.
The 5 steps of every automation
One question per letter, in the order things happen.
Trigger
What triggers it?
Every Monday at 8 am, a new email, or your click.
Examine
What comes in, and in what state?
This week's videos, minus the ones you've already filed.
Modify
What gets transformed?
The duration converted to seconds, the title cleaned up.
Prepare
What gets prepared so it can go out?
Every record has its title and its duration before it goes out.
Output
What comes out?
The record goes into your database, and the video is marked as done.
The 3 foundations of a solid automation
Data
A machine doesn't guess: it reads what you've organized. Clean data is the foundation of everything you build.
Human in the loop
You stay in control where it matters: what gets fetched, what gets transformed, what gets checked. Never on the trigger, never after it's sent.
Error handling
It will break one day. The worst part isn't the error, it's the chain that tells you everything went fine. Decide who sees it, and how it gets restarted.
And one output can start another: that's when your automations become a system.
Which tools?
TEMPO first
You write your chain before you pick the tool. The board tells you what it's missing.
n8n & Make
To build without code. A chain that follows its rules costs far less than an AI that redoes everything on every run.
Code & cron
Once your process is proven and solid, turn it into code: it runs on its own, every day.
Write your first chain
The TEMPO board is free and needs no account: you lay out your steps, it tells you what your chain doesn't say yet.
